Lean Meds: one flat price at every dose, but the ladder has gone quiet

Lean Meds has one pitch and repeats it in a scrolling banner: “SAME PRICE, EVERY DOSE. TRANSPARENT PRICING.” The hero reads “Starting at $49/mo” with “Same price every month, first order & every order after.” That flat-price promise is the reason to look here, and it's still on every page. The catch is what's missing. The homepage no longer shows a price table, the Pricing link in the footer points at a section that doesn't exist, and the FAQ says pricing “is displayed on our membership plans page,” which isn't linked anywhere public. The full ladder now sits behind an intake that asks for your date of birth.

How the pricing works today

The public price is a floor, not a menu. “Starting at $49/mo” is the only figure on the site, and it isn't tied to a named medication. The product image is labeled compounded tirzepatide and compounded semaglutide, so both molecules appear to be on offer, but nothing public says which one $49 buys or what the other costs. Against a category median of about $170 a month, even a tirzepatide plan at twice the floor would be cheap. Just don't assume that until you see the plan screen.

What the price includes is stated clearly. The banner promises “PRESCRIPTION & TELEMED VISITS INCLUDED. NO INSURANCE REQUIRED. FREE SHIPPING,” and the Terms explain that the single total covers the pharmacy's charge, the provider's fee, and the platform fee. Every plan also includes a 1:1 care coach and, per the hero, a “U.S. Licensed Registered Nutritionist.” One line in that hero box needs care. It says “Eligible for Insurance,” while the FAQ calls Lean Meds “a self-pay healthcare service” and the Terms bar anyone from seeking reimbursement through the platform. Read “eligible” as FSA-eligible, which the footer confirms, not as insurance-billed.

The flat-dose promise matters because most compounded programs raise the bill as you titrate. Here the same monthly figure applies at a starter dose and at the top rung alike. That said, the site doesn't publish the ladder itself: no 0.25 mg starter, no top strength, no schedule. Your provider sets those, and the site says only that the price won't move.

What the intake asks, and where it stops you

Get Started opens a four-stage flow labeled Start, Preliminary, Health Details, and Eligibility. The first screen asks height, weight, and goal weight and calculates your BMI live on the page. The second screen is titled “Tell us about yourself” and asks for your date of birth and sex assigned at birth, with the note that GLP-1 prescriptions “require age verification and may involve pregnancy screening.” First- and last-name fields are built into a later step of the same form. Plans and prices come after all of that, so there's no way to price-shop Lean Meds anonymously.

After you submit, a licensed provider from OpenLoop Healthcare Partners reviews the assessment. The consult “may take place via live video or through an asynchronous provider review,” depending on your state's telehealth rules, so some people never get on camera. The FAQ puts processing and delivery at “approximately 4–5 business days.” Shipping is free and tracked. You must be 18, and if your BMI drops below 25 your clinician may shift you to maintenance or pause treatment.

Medications, pharmacies, and who is actually treating you

• Molecules: compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide, per the product image; the text itself only says “compounded GLP-1 medications.” Lean Meds does not sell brand-name Wegovy, Ozempic, or Zepbound.
• Pharmacies: four named with addresses and phone numbers: RedRock Pharmacy in St. George, Utah; Health Warehouse in Florence, Kentucky; Precision Medicine in Bellmore, New York; and Triad Rx in Daphne, Alabama. All are described as state-licensed 503A compounders.
• Clinicians: OpenLoop Healthcare Partners, PC. Individual prescribers are no longer named on the page.
• States: all 50 states, in the FAQ's words “all 50 U.S. states,” with the Terms adding the District of Columbia.

The Terms are candid about the structure. Lean Meds “does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment and does not dispense medications.” It's the storefront; OpenLoop runs the platform and the clinicians. That's the same arrangement many compounded sellers use, and Lean Meds discloses it more plainly than most.

Cancellation and refunds: the part to read twice

The hero says “No auto rebill” and “Cancel Anytime.” The legal pages say something different. The Terms describe subscription products that are “automatically charged at the recurring intervals disclosed” until you cancel, and the refund policy says cancellation “stops future billing only.” Take the legal pages as the truth: this is a renewing subscription.

Refunds are now essentially unavailable. The policy states, in capitals, “ALL PAYMENTS FOR THE SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE.” Multi-month bundles are non-refundable “in whole and in part,” including months where nothing shipped. The one exception is medical disqualification, which refunds the unused portion minus any consultation already done. Even the cancellation window is inconsistent. The Terms say 48 hours before the processing date; the refund policy says 72. Use 72, by email to care@leanmeds.com, to be safe.

Trust signals

The good: named pharmacies with phone numbers, a named medical group, a phone line, a full policy trail (telehealth consent, consumer health data policy, California notice), and no FDA warning letters against leanmeds.com. The site also spells out that its results claims are “self-reported data” and not from clinical trials. The weak spots: the LegitScript badge is a self-hosted image linking to LegitScript's generic search page, not a certificate; the “Trusted by 125k+ Americans” and 4.8-star figures are the company's own numbers; and the countdown timer that used to sit on the homepage is gone, which is an improvement.

Who should choose Lean Meds, and who should skip it

Choose it if you expect to titrate over many months and want a price that won't climb with your dose, you're fine with compounded medication, and you're willing to enter your date of birth to see the plans. Skip it if you want to compare a full price list before intake, if refund flexibility matters to you, or if you need brand-name medication or insurance billing. And if you prepay a multi-month bundle, do it knowing that not one dollar comes back.

Lean Meds still has the cleanest pricing idea in this category. It just stopped showing the numbers. Get to the plan screen, note the figure for your molecule, and hold them to “same price every month.”
