Trust, safety, and what we could verify

We confirmed Empower's structure directly from its own server-rendered site: a homepage that bills it as a '503A Compounding Pharmacy / 503B Facility' and a weight-management page describing its compounded and commercial options. We found no public pricing to second-guess, and no consumer-facing accreditation badge, support guarantee, or refund policy — those simply aren't part of a B2B pharmacy's footprint.

What is on file, and what an earlier version of this review wrongly said was absent, is a pair of FDA warning letters. On 2 April 2025 the agency sent Empower Clinic Services two letters on the same day, against two different Houston facilities. The one covering its 503B outsourcing facility says investigators found that "drug products you produced failed to meet the conditions of section 503B" and noted "serious deficiencies in your practices for producing drug products intended or expected to be sterile, which put patients at risk." The second, covering its 503A pharmacy, likewise noted "serious deficiencies in your practices for producing drug products, which put patients at risk." That matters more here than it would at a telehealth brand, and it is worth being precise about why. A marketing letter tells you a seller described a drug badly. These are inspection findings about how the medicine itself was made, at a facility that supplies other companies' programs — so the exposure is not limited to people who have heard of Empower. A warning letter is a disclosure, not a disqualification: it does not mean a shutdown, and Empower remains a registered outsourcing facility. But if you are choosing a telehealth provider, asking which pharmacy fills your prescription is a fair question, and this is one of the reasons it is.

The other honest caveat is that compounded GLP-1s in general are not FDA-approved finished products the way brand-name pens are; they are pharmacy-prepared versions, and the responsibility for evaluating you, dosing you, and following up sits with your prescriber.
