Handling the pen or vial
Once you start using it: the in-use window is 56 days after first use (FlexTouch pen) / 28 days (single-dose pen or syringe). Mark the date you first used it (on the device or your calendar) so you know exactly when to discard it — the label requires discarding after this window even if medicine remains.
Keep the pen or vial in its original carton whenever possible — this is what protects it from light, and doubles as a place to note the first-use date. Never store a pen with the needle attached between uses.
Traveling with Wegovy
The WEGOVY tablet (a separate, less common formulation) is room-temperature only — 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C), in its original bottle, away from moisture — no refrigeration needed. For the injection pen or syringe, use a cooler bag for refrigerated travel, or plan around the 28-day (pen/syringe) or 56-day (FlexTouch) room-temperature window.
